Club competition rounds are now completed so the Ladies Nine Hole Golf group this week headed off on an extended golf trip to the Franklin region. First port of call was Kay Maxwell’s Nine Hole Golf Resort with some coaching, a round then delicious lunch. A very challenging course even though it was eight 3 pars and one 4 par. The lake and streams gobbled quite a few balls and the rest were captured by some very long grasses and trees in the rough. The next day the 18 ladies headed along the Awhitu Peninsula to the well maintained Awhitu Golf course which nestles beside the Regional Park. Golfers enjoyed breathtaking views of the Manukau Harbour and Auckland City while playing up and down hills with some dogleg fairways and hidden greens.
