The seventeen 9 Hole Shootout finalists couldn’t have wished for better weather or course conditions for a big day of golf. We are grateful for the superb match referees Ray Mettam and Karen Martin who kept the event running smoothly. After putt-offs on every hole to whittle the field down, we saw the best two players left on the ninth. There was a large contingent of supporters gathered to watch these two on their final shots after six hours of intense golf. Bev King was named the winner after an outstanding match showing a steady hand most of the way around apart from one big hit into the trees on the fifth where she went on to survive a putt-off. Runner-up was Lorraine Mettam who had maintained consistency in her scores by keeping out of trouble spots and hitting straight up the fairway on all holes.
