This week the seventeen players had umbrellas up and rain jackets on to ward off the light drizzle that intermittently fell during the round. The final round of the Nett competition was won by Leanne Wright on 35, with Fiona Pickett and Bev King runners-up on 37. Gross winner was Fiona Pickett and runner-up was Rachel Looijen. Heading the Stableford prize list was Leanne Wright, with Irene Gubb, Bev King and Fiona Pickett in second equal place. Winning the discounted round of golf was the newest member Joan Baker. Taking home a prize in all the contests was Fiona Pickett who also won the Robert Harris voucher for the Longest Putt. Recently, nine members represented Walton at two tournaments with all heading to the podium to pick up one or more prizes. At Stewart Alexander Sheryl Mather and Jo Stott won Stableford prizes. Playing the final tournament to be held at The Narrows Bev King, Fiona Pickett, Ivy Radcliffe and Lynda Sycamore won Stableford prizes in Division One. Bev also won the Straightest Drive, and Lynda also won Closest to the Pin. In Division Two Leanne Wright won a Stableford prize and in the Men’s Division Marv Radcliffe won both the Stableford and Hidden Hole prizes.
